7G-TRONIC automatic transmission (7-speed)[3], [4] The 7G-TRONIC 7-speed automatic transmission increases ride comfort with an exceptionally smooth gear change process. The system can also skip individual gears, for example, changing directly from the seventh to the fifth gear, which is especially ideal for overtaking manoeuvres. Together with very short shift times and a low noise level, the 7G-TRONIC significantly increases the driving dynamics and also makes a considerable contribution to reducing fuel consumption.
7G-TRONIC Sport automatic transmission (7-speed)[2] The 7G-TRONIC Sport 7-speed automatic transmission enables particularly dynamic bursts of speed: in M mode the gears are manually selected using steering-wheel gearshift paddles, just like in Formula 1. That mean that the gear selection process and the reaction time in this mode are even faster. Operating the right gearshift paddle changes up while applying the left changes down. In addition the C mode and S mode are available: in these settings the automatic transmission makes for gentle gear changes which contribute to comfort and driving performance. In addition the 7G-TRONIC Sport can skip individual gears, making it possible, for example, to change from seventh to fifth gear – which is particularly suited for overtaking manoeuvres.
Direct steering with variable servo assistance[3], [5] Direct steering with variable servo assistance comprises two components: speed-sensitive power assistance which can be recognised from speed-sensitive steering and a variable steering ratio which is dependent on the steering wheel angle. Together these components make for comfortable manoeuvring at low speeds and also stable straight-line stability at higher speeds.

Audio 20 CD The Audio 20 CD comes with a radio with twin tuner, a CD drive, a 5-inch colour display and a telephone keypad and can be operated using the multifunction steering wheel. The loudspeaker is optimally designed for the vehicle interior. An Aux-in connection in the glove compartment allows for connections to external audio sources. An integral Bluetooth function allows a mobile telephone to connect with the vehicle’s system and provides comfortable hands-free talking.
Audio 50 APS The Audio 50 APS provides a 5-inch colour display and an arrow-based DVD navigation system. For entertainment there is a radio along with a 6-disc DVD changer which can play both MP3 CDs and MP3 DVDs. To play music from external data devices, simply use the Aux-in connection in the glove compartment. In addition, connecting a mobile telephone via the BluetoothTM interface provides the option of using the system’s hands-free function. LINGUATRONIC is integrated in conjunction with the DVD changer and allows for comfortable voice-operated control of the audio, telephone and navigation functions while driving.
COMAND APS control and display system COMAND APS is equipped with a hard-disk-based navigation system with map display and a 6.5-inch colour display and serves as the central control unit for all telematics components. The system's entertainment functions include a radio, a CD/DVD drive which is MP3-compatible and has a DVD audio/video playback function, an SD memory card slot and MUSIC REGISTER with a 4 GB hard disk for storing digital music files (MP3, WMA). In addition the Gracenote® database supplies information on the album and artist for audio CDs and DVDs. LINGUATRONIC allows you to operate COMAND APS using voice entry. After connecting a mobile telephone to the Bluetooth interface you can conveniently make phone calls using the vehicle’s hands-free system. You can use an Aux-in connection in the glove compartment to connect external data devices with the system.

THERMOTRONIC luxury automatic climate control The luxury automatic climate control THERMOTRONIC provides individual temperatures and a pleasant climate – with separate controls for the driver and front passenger. In addition a combination or active charcoal filter catches dust and pollutants. To ensure an optimum climate sensors permanently monitor the intensity of sunlight and the moisture in the fresh air drawn into the vehicle. The measured values are continually fed into the control system. During the colder seasons the residual engine heat utilisation is a practical feature: it warms the interior for a while even after the engine has been switched off.
AIRSCARF neck-level heating system, incl. fabric draught-stop AIRSCARF neck-level heating extends cabriolet season – and allows for driving with an open top even when outside temperatures are low. The touch of a button is all it takes to warm the air blowing out from the head restraint around the neck and head area. AIRSCARF neck-level heating is available exclusively from Mercedes-Benz.
