Top-level modernity.

Navigation, telephone, audio – with the optional COMAND control and display system the driver keeps these and many
other functions in sight and under control. The touchpad enables intuitive operation by means of hand gestures, and the user can input letters, special characters and numbers in his own natural handwriting.

Equipment availability depends on engine and configuration selected. You will find details in the equipment information for each model.

Audio 20 CD

This multimedia system combines entertainment with information and communication. E.g. Radio, dual tuner and CD player.

The Bluetooth® interface features a hands-free function and audio streaming for playing music files. It also supports the transfer of contacts from your mobile phone to the Media display, provided this function supports PBAP (Phonebook Access Profile).


COMAND (optional)

Navigation, telephone, audio, video – with the COMAND control and display system the driver keeps these and many other functions in sight and under control. The information is shown in colour on a high-resolution 20.3-cm media display. Operation via touch pad is simple and intuitive.

High-speed hard-drive navigation with realistic topographic map display guides you to your destination safely and smoothly. Navigation data updated free of charge for a three-year period.


6-disc DVD changer (optional)

Integrated into the centre console for easy access, the DVD changer has a magazine with six compartments for CDs/DVDs. Operation is easy and intuitive via COMAND Online.

Head-up Display showing current speed and - depending on specification - information on speed limits and from the navigation and assistance systems (optional)

Carefully matched technical components together with the Logic 7® technology from Harman Kardon® provide an unmistakeably authentic surround sound. Passengers in all seats enjoy a thrilling 360-degree sound experience both with stereo and with 5.1 multi-channel recordings.

With its 14 high-performance loudspeakers the system is adapted specifically to the particular acoustic conditions of the vehicle. The powerful, high-performance DSP amplifier is equipped with a digital signal processor (DSP), which controls frequency response with its high-power computing capacity to provide a harmonic overall sound.

In addition, the speed-dependent volume control feature provides a uniform sound impression by continuously adjusting the volume to the speed of the vehicle.

Convenience Telephony (optional)

Simply a better way to make calls: a universal interface in the armrest lets you connect mobile phones conveniently to the vehicle's speaker phone. To do so, just insert the mobile phone into the a phone cradle (accessory) matching the device.

The use of the vehicle aerial ensures optimum reception and transmission. In addition, the battery is recharged. The mobile phone is conveniently operated through the vehicle's systems. Access to the phone's internal memory is also possible this way.



Media Interface consumer kit (optional)

A universal interface in the centre console lets you easily connect portable media players such as the iPod® or iPhone®. The audio contents are thus conveniently controlled and reproduced first-class via the infotainment systems of the vehicle.

 

Bluetooth® phone module (SAP profile) in the armrest for telephony/internet connectivity, with separate SIM card reader (optional)

This feature allows the connection of a mobile phone using the Bluetooth® SAP (SIM Access Profile) protocol or direct operation by inserting a SIM card into the integral SIM card reader. Use of the vehicle's external aerial ensures better reception.
