The design of its performance-enhancing drivetrain, suspension and exhaust system provides a highly emotive motoring experience, one that sets the AMG sports model apart from the regular Mercedes-Benz model series. The vehicle boasts impressive lateral dynamics and agility.

The suspension features a highly sporty setting based on the Mercedes-AMG model series with modified components, for instance, the specially-tuned ADS+ Adaptive Damping System of the standard AIRMATIC air suspension, in addition to this, the vehicle level can be lowered by as much as 55 millimetres in the "Sport+" drive mode.

The AMG-specific 4MATIC all-wheel drive with its drive force distribution of 40:60 to front and rear axles, respectively, ensures greater driving dynamism and improved traction when accelerating. The generously-dimensioned braking system features internally-vented discs with a diameter of 375 millimetres and a two-piston floating brake calliper, 345 millimetre diameter and single-piston floating brake calliper on the rear.
